# OBL Standard

The UK did not adopt the Berlin Group standard. It has its own — the Open Banking Standard, maintained by Open Banking Limited — and UK third parties are built against it. If your tenants serve UK customers, this is the interface those third parties expect to find.

The platform publishes three OBL APIs at **v4.0.1** from the same installation that serves Berlin Group markets, so an operator with tenants on both sides of the Channel runs one platform rather than two, with each market's rules applied per API product. UK onboarding is also more automated than the EU equivalent: third parties register themselves through the Open Banking Directory instead of exchanging certificates by hand, which shortens the path from a provider's first interest to their first live call — once for your whole tenant base, not once per bank.

| [Account and Transaction API](/api-references/obl-standard/account-and-transaction-api.md) | Accounts, balances, transactions and standing data |
| [Payment Initiation API](/api-references/obl-standard/payment-initiation-api.md) | Domestic, scheduled, standing order and international payments |
| [Confirmation of Funds API](/api-references/obl-standard/confirmation-of-funds-api.md) | A yes or no funds check, with no balance disclosed |

The regulatory picture — how the UK profile differs and what the CMA and FCA require to be reported — is covered under [UK Open Banking Standard (OBL)](/standards-and-compliance/uk-open-banking-obl.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doc.api.tieto.com/api-references/obl-standard.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
