# NextGenPSD2 XS2A

The Berlin Group's NextGenPSD2 XS2A is the interface most of Europe's banks expose to satisfy PSD2. Publishing it on behalf of your tenants is how each of them meets the obligation to open its customers' payment accounts to licensed third parties — and publishing it as the standard was written, rather than as a local interpretation, is what makes your whole tenant base reachable through one integration.

The platform ships the three regulated services below, at implementation guidelines **V1.3.12** and **version 2.0**. You decide which to publish, for which tenants and on what terms; the specification, the developer documentation and the sandbox follow automatically.

| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| [Account Information Service](/api-references/nextgenpsd2-xs2a/account-information-service.md) | Read accounts, balances and transaction history |
| [Payment Initiation Service](/api-references/nextgenpsd2-xs2a/payment-initiation-service.md)   | Start payments from a customer's account              |
| [Funds Confirmation Service](/api-references/nextgenpsd2-xs2a/funds-confirmation-service.md) | Answer whether funds are available, without a balance |

Two versions of the standard run side by side, so no tenant and no market is forced to migrate on someone else's schedule. Where a regulator publishes its own reading of the specification — extra fields, narrowed options, local payment products — that profile is applied per market rather than requiring a separate installation. See [National Profiles](/standards-and-compliance/national-profiles.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doc.api.tieto.com/api-references/nextgenpsd2-xs2a.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
