# API References

This is the catalog of interfaces your platform publishes on behalf of the banks it serves. The banks are your tenants; the licensed third parties in your market are the consumers. Every reference here is generated from the specification behind the running interface, so the developer documentation those third parties read is a by-product of publishing an API rather than a documentation project you have to staff and keep current.

Three families are covered. Which ones you publish depends on the markets your tenants operate in, and how far beyond compliance you want to take them.

| [NextGenPSD2 XS2A](/api-references/nextgenpsd2-xs2a.md) | The Berlin Group regulatory interface most of Europe runs on |
| [openFinance](/api-references/openfinance.md) | The Berlin Group framework beyond PSD2 — services you sell rather than owe |
| [OBL Standard](/api-references/obl-standard.md)         | The UK Open Banking APIs, at v4.0.1                                        |

| If your tenants operate in | Publish |
| ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| EU and EEA markets                        | NextGenPSD2 XS2A, with each market's [national profile](/standards-and-compliance/national-profiles.md) applied |
| The UK | The OBL Standard |
| Any market, beyond the regulatory minimum | openFinance |

The regulatory families are obligations your tenants owe and cannot charge for. Your platform is how each of them meets those obligations without a project of its own, and how a third party reaches all of them through a single connection. openFinance is the commercial layer on top — the same platform, the same consent handling and the same billing machinery, used for services that are priced and sold rather than owed. One installation can publish all three side by side, across every tenant.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://doc.api.tieto.com/api-references.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
